quick update...

Sorry for the absenteeism... things have been CRAZY around here. Here's the news:

1) We just signed the lease on our new apartment! (yay!) We move in the 3rd week of July. See pics below:

Living Room

We are going to be at the Marais Uptown. http://www.maraisuptown.com/
Our condo is #304, oh and it's unit type A1, if you want to see. It's a BEAUTIFUL place, and a great neighborhood... we are SO EXCITED to be moving there!

2) We didn't end up having a moving sale last weekend because we didn't know where we were going to be yet. NOW we know, and we also know that we need to get rid of about 3/4 of our furniture and stuff. So, the moving sale will be on July 7th, and it's going to be HUGE. I might even have it saturday and sunday just to be sure to get rid of most of the stuff. If anything doesn't sell, it's going on Craigslist or donated. Let the downsizing begin!

3) Cleo is going on a program. Our new apartment has a kitty door, and I knew just by looking at it, that there is NO WAY she will fit through that door. She's on a Fat Cat diet & exercise program... I may have to get her on a treadmill or something!

4) We're calling in favors.... all our friends who we helped move (you know who you are) please let us know if you can come help us out. We hope to spread the move out over a few days, just because of work and all that, but we are def. going to need lots of extra hands.

That's all for now!

The Tim Cooper Special "phase out"

The Tim Cooper Special. It is a legend in our circle of friends. I call it "Moon over my Timmy", but never to his face, because he HATES being called "Timmy".

What is the special? Well, it's complicated, so let me explain it carefully.

1) One piece of Buttermilk Bread, lightly toasted, crusts cut off
2) 1/8 inch slice of honey ham, warmed in fry pan, sprinkled liberally with Cayenne Pepper, and placed (perfectly centered) on afore mentioned toast.
3) One fried egg, over easy, placed on bread ham stack.

This stack is then admired momentarily. A large glass of 1% milk is poured. Then, you must sit indian style in a dining chair, and prepare to consume said breakfast. You must gently prick the yolk of the egg, creating a little pool of yolk. Then, you must eat around the outside of the stack, dipping each bite into the yolk. You must save the yolk center of the stack for the last bite. After consuming that final morsel, you must exclaim loudly, " MMMMMMM! That's a DAMN good breakfast!"

My husband is a man of habits and for nearly the entire time we've lived in this house, he has eaten that breakfast EVERY MORNING. He has gone out of his way to convince others of it's greatness, and has even suggested that we open a restaurant that serves ONLY "The Tim Cooper Special".

In the past week or so, something happened. Maybe he finally burnt himself out on the breakfast, or maybe he's been cheating on his breakfast with "Eggy in a hole" and bacon, or maybe since we're getting ready to move, he's just trying to shake off the old. For whatever reason, the time has come to say farewell to "Moon over my Timmy".

But whatever you do, don't bring it up with Tim. This is a hard time of separation for him and any mention of his waning love for the "Special" could cause undue upset. Just try and support him through this difficult time...

Start of slow-motion montage of happy moments with Tim special to the tune of "So Happy Together...." :
* Oh, and remember that time we were in New York and he couldn't find the right kind of spatula, or that time at my parent's house when the ham was just TOO thick, or that time when our friends crashed at our house after a party and Tim whipped out the special for everyone....*
