August 2004

August 26th, 2004
I had a dream last night about my friend Stacia coming to visit and how she had invited like a hundred people, that I didn't know, Over for dinner and we only had enough food for like thirty people. I woke up in a cold sweat. These are my nightmares now. Not about fire or murder anymore... ( i used to have some doozies, let me tell you.) I dream about not being able to be a good hostess. Geez, I am becoming "Dinner Party Lady". That is the name Sheila uses to describe to people who I am. Oh well.... I do love a good dinner party, what can I say?
So, the new thing at my work is this break area I created over in one corner. We've got a mini fridge, a microwave, and.... *drum roll please* an espresso machine... My days have taken on that frenetic caffeinated pace that dogs most people and up until now eluded me. My production is through the roof. I swear, even my thoughts are moving faster now. And in other news, I have forgotten my wedding ring in the bathroom again today. I was in such a hurry and I didn't realize until I was half-way to work that I had forgotten it. :( I feel like something is terribly wrong, I'm so used to wearing it already. Isn't that funny? I feel like I've had it for ages when in all reality, it's been less than three months. :)
I spent a little bit of time yesterday compiling some of my poetry, and realized how much I had written as of late. If I get up to about thirty or so, I might add a page to this site just to share them with folks. Until then, here is my latest...

Sorry for the lack of updates... :)
I've been totally swamped at work since Sgt. Azbell went on leave, and actually a lot has happened lately... Paka is getting so big. He and Cleo are finally starting to get along. They still fight a little bit, but it's mostly because Paka is going through a rambunctious phase where he likes to jump on Cleo's head and she is much to dignified to allow that to go on, so she smacks him in the head and hisses at him. It's pretty funny actually. :)
So, we finally finished Sheila's website. It's my first actual freelance web design project, and I'm very proud of it. Sheila is really picking up steam in her music career, so I've been very involved in preparing for her big musical debut at the Red Monkey on September 18th. If you want to come, you can check out the information on her website.
Tim's surprise birthday party went off without a hitch. It was so much fun. He loved all his presents and I think everyone had a great time. I got to give a shout out to Sam & Rachel for helping me orchestrate the whole thing and to Sheila for helping me decorate.
Tim and I have also been planning our honeymoon. We are taking a big long road trip and we are going to be leaving on September 2nd and driving all over the place, see big things, and having big adventures. My friend Stacia gets into town on Thursday, I'm so excited, I haven't seen her in about two years, so I'll really looking forward to hanging out in LoDo, just like the old days. :)
So, that's what I'm up too, more later...

Hello everyone,
Sorry for the lack of updates, but summer is always like this for me, especially now that I'm doing more freelance work. I also have some news... I got a kitten! He is so adorable. His name is Paka, which is Swahili for "sly one; cat". He takes up a lot of my extra time especially since he needs so much cuddling. Okay, he doesn't really need it, but i do it anyway because he's so freaking cute! Come one, isn't it true?

And in other news, I have finally uploaded all the wedding photos to an online photo album where you can order your own prints and enlargements, if you so desire. (Except for Mom and Shirley, I'm making scrapbooks for both of you with all the pictures in them) If you want to view the pictures and I haven't already sent you an e-mail sharing it out to you, ( I only sent it to a few folks...) then just shoot me an e-mail and I'll add you on....I can't believe the wedding was a month ago...it feels like a long time has passed actually. Tim and I are really looking forward to our honeymoon at the end of the month. I can't wait to show Oregon to him. I mean, most people who are from there probably take it for granted, but when I think of Port Orford I think of it as a truly wonderful place and I miss it a lot. Not my old house, but just all the special little things about it that you'd never know about unless you lived there for a long time... Tim and I's freelance work has picked up a lot and it looks like we are going to be doing business together more frequently, which is great, cause we can always use the extra money. Tim's birthday is in a couple days, I can't believe he's going to be 27! :) We've got a few things planned for that and other than that, things are pretty mellow around here...Talk soon...

p.s. If you haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite then you are an IDIOT! :) Just kidding, if you haven't seen it, then you should...you don't know what your missing! I laughed so hard my side hurt!
