Well, here it is...the new, much talked about design! I like it...it's still a little clunky in places...but refinement will be coming soon. I'm taking a week off next week. My friend Tom is coming in to town and then Halloween happens...so next time you hear from me, I should have lots of stories and pictures, in the meantime, poke around and let me know what you think...(also if you see any glaring mistakes, let me know...I've been working for so long on this I could have missed something out of sleepiness...)
Thanks,

Howdy doo! I'm sorry for the slow updating lately...I've been swamped at work and I've been running around like a mad woman...So on Wednesday I went to The Merc as usual. It was a great show,Tim and Dane kicked ass, as usual...I had a couple mojito's and stayed pretty late. On my way home I got pulled over. It was the scariest thing...I was so sure I was going to jail, but somehow I managed to talk my way out of it. All I got was a warning, but that was enough...I'm never going to drive after drinking, even if it is a glass of wine. It's just not worth it!So, anyhoo...On Thursday I went to see Howie Day at the Gothic Theater. The show was so freakin' awesome! One of the band that opened, Jump Little Children, were really good...I gotta pick up their Cd...So then Howie came out. he played with a band, which I wasn't sure I'd like, but it was a really good show. He played every song I love...his version of Ghost was amazing. The crown slipped up on "Buzzing" and didn't holler www.smashedinthemorning.com but other than that it was a great show. I got home late again that night...so by Friday I was working on 5 hours of sleep and so when I got home at 3pm, I crashed out and slept until midnight, got up called everyone I was supposed to hang out with and apologized for standing them up and then went back to bed...(After playing guitar for a bit. Nothing like a little guns n' roses in the middle of the night...) Saturday night was a blast! I went out with Brad and Justin and a bunch of their friends to B-52's. I managed to finagle myself a Denver fire chief hat...(Brad you still owe me my $500) and then we went over to LoDo's which was packed...I got a bunch of drunk guys asking me, "Where's the fire?" ....aaah....drunk frat boy humor, gotta love it. I met a bunch of cute boys, unfortunately, they turned out to be officer's in training. Bummer. The highlight of that whole situation was one of them telling me..."I've had an f-16 incentive ride, but I've never had an E-5 incentive ride." mmm...classy. ;-)Sunday was a day of rest. But I used it to get my car cleaned out, washed, oil changed..all that responsible crap. Then I had dinner with Tiffany at Justin's house...I'll say it 'cause it's true. Justin is an AMAZING cook. He made pork Tenderloins with this cream sauce, and roasted potatoes, and fresh green beans...then he made banana's foster (not banana's finkelstein as I originally thought) he flambéed and it was very cool. Anyhow, I'm off to the gym to work off all the fattening stuff I consumed yesterday...so tata for now.peace,~eps~ the new site design is coming along...look for it by the end of this week.

Howdy Folks!I hope everyone enjoyed their Columbus Day. I know I sure did...I woke up at 10:00 am and reflected on Columbus right before I ate cereal and watched Monsoon Wedding until 12:00. AAAaah. I love me some Columbus day! ;-) Anyhoo, like I said didn't do a whole heckuva lot yesterday except watch movies and work on my Halloween costume....I spent five hours sewing bead fringe on my dress. It looks awesome so far and I don't even have the straps on yet....this costume is going to be the most labor intensive to date for sure. Anyway, my weekend was long and relaxing...(for the most part) Tiffany's surprise birthday party went off with out a hitch. We had a blast and her big green Incredible Hulk hands were a big hit. (thanks Monica!) I posted a bunch of pics from the party on the Pals page. So after the dinner, we headed out to a party up in the Smoky Hill area....it was packed and we had a great time until we left and got so lost, we almost ended up in Canada. I have so sense of direction at all so I spent most of the time yelling at Tiffany to stop making me laugh while trying to find the "Buckley Balls".Saturday was pretty mellow....just did house cleaning and stuff...I went out with Arian and B to Gibby's that night and hung out with a bunch of people I didn't know until Chris, Kevin, Joey and a bunch of their friends showed up....and then Corey and Jamie showed up...it was Air Force city for the rest of the night...Sunday I hung out with Dane and took some promo pics for his new website, (stay tuned for a link to those) and then we went and caught Wynton Marsalis play with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. It was totally amazing. So, I'd say all and all it was a good weekend. I spent a while playing guitar yesterday and Sunday....I'm really getting excited with how quickly I'm getting back into it...I mean, I still suck, but not as bad. ;-) Tim's back from Oklahoma and we had a long talk about web design....I think with his help I'm gonna try to integrate some Flash into my overhauled site. (that'll probably be around new years...)On another note, some of you know, my little sister, Mary, will be deploying overseas and that has been weighing heavily on my mind. I wish I could go for her, but if you think about it....send good thoughts her way. I also just got word from my friend Janice, that she'll be deploying as well. My time hasn't come yet, but with the people I love being sent, it feels like part of me is gone too. Stay tuned for updates....peace,~erin

Hello to my friends and all you net folks...
I've been so busy these past couple of days...but I've finally finished my friend Sheila's website, (click here to view it) and made updates to this one, including the new splash....(i got bored of the other one...) and I added photos to the Pals page and a few of my little brother to the family page. I've been busy planning for Tom's visit and Tiffany's Birthday dinner on Friday....I'm sooo looking forward to taking leave at the end of this month I could really use a vacation. (I also want to say hi to Tim, who's off at his best friends wedding in OK....) Anyway, I'm planning on going to Dave and Sheila's show at Angie's on Friday after Tiffany's thing, so I should have some pics from that for ya. I'm also planning on taking some shots of Dane on sunday for his new & improved website...so stay tuned for that...
much love to you all...~e

What wonderful Monday morning. I'm fully recovered from the fun that was this weekend. I was EXHAUSTED yesterday... Basically just laid around on my couch until getting up to go check out guitars at Guitar Center with Tim Cooper. Got my eye on a couple...I think my next guitar will be an acoustic electric, in black or red...haven't decided yet. I like this one, and this one...and this one... At any rate, I foresee a smashing lovely brand new geeeetar in my future. ;-) So that was Sunday....But what I have to tell you about was Saturday night. I had dinner at Tiffany's place. She made salad, chicken, pasta, and Napoleons. MMMM.....anyhoo, after that I went to a little party at my friend Mingo's place in the city. He lives in this cool loft on 17th and Champa. So we (and by we, I mean me, Dane, Sheila, Dave, Logan, Kim, Mike, Beth, and of course Mingo) chilled out there for a while, drank and watched SNL with Jack Black and John Mayer hosting.... *sigh* John Mayer is soooooo cool. After the show was over we decided to migrate to this other party at some dude's house....somebody Dave knows....we walked to this place and ended up going into the wrong apartment....(not to worry they were having a party too and we were given beers and invited to stay) So then, after it became obvious that all of us together didn't have enough hair gel or tattoos to equal even one of the other guests, we left and headed up to Dave's friend Neal Betters' place. Pretty rad apartment...with super nice people... ended up having the most fun ever. Neal was playing DJ and we all danced to classics of the 80's and 90's...I can't even begin to tell you how awesome it was. Everyone was drunk, but not so much that it got weird, smoochy or violent... (I jumped around so much that I lost my lovely dinner that Tiffany made, but felt much better after that.) Sheila and I got a striptease from one of the absurdly good-looking guys there. I met this kid Jeff...somebody. I can't remember his name, but anyway,he was hysterical....I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt...he and Dave had this spastic dance-off involving some kind Russian/break-dance hybrid....it was a riot!So then Friday night was open mike night at Sweet Rockin' Coffee again....Dave played a kick ass show with Sheila singing back-up and a new guy, Sean Morris backing him up on Guitar. I finally remembered to bring my camera but my batteries died before I could get any really good shots...the ones I did take can be viewed here. I don't have the show schedule for this week, but as soon as I get word I'll update the artists page.much love,~e

Hello Neighbors! *puts on sweater like Mr. Rogers*First let me say howdy-doo to my little brother, Jackson, who turns the big 12 today! He's the most amazing little kid on the planet and he's growing up so fast....so I'm sending hugs and love to my little man. *smooch*Now, let me sit down and tell you a little story about the crazy "open mike" show I saw last night at The Mercury Cafe. It started with some kind of improvisational-extemporaneous-acoustic-ambient musician doin' his thing with an electric guitar, and 18-inch keyboard, and gratuitous use of the word "tomato". This act was followed by a 65 year old beat poet sharing with us "The Blues of Melissa Ivey", gin joint rags from the 20's (word up to Bessie Smith) and a interpretation of the story of Jonah and the Whale that must have originated from the time of existentialists and smokey beat clubs. The next two guys that got up on the stage looked like the love children of Ned Flanders and Rick Moranis. They played us a stirring version of the blues...(I never knew the accordion could be so sad.) and then finished with an accapella version of "Blow the Man"...who doesn't love a traditional sea shanty?Things turned a bit more serious after that when Dane Strom shared a Warren Zevon cover, "Mutineer" and a crowd favorite "2 Young, 2 Sad, 2 High"...at least I think that's what it was called...I get so distracted during Dane's sets...He's such a unique performer. Very quiet off-stage but when he gets up there, it's just a stunning transformation that takes place....You can see that he's got "it". The last two good performances were courtesy of Tim Cooper, who played an energetic set with accompaniment from Nolan on his drum. You gotta admire any guy who tackles Sarah Maclachlan and not just any song either..."black and white" ( I love that song...) The best part about his performance though is when he plays his originals. We were privy to an amazing rendition of his "Hold Out" that reminded us why good songwriting is what separates the men from the boys. The final performance (worth mentioning anyway) was from Dave Preston. I know I've raved about him before so I won't gush. Ok, maybe I will...It's just that he's so young and so good...He plays chords on his guitar that my little girly fingers can only dream about reaching...His songs have all these catchy little loops and he plays with such energy, you can easily picture him playing huge crowds and loving it. He played all originals and even busted a string before his set was over. The audience was appreciative...he sold out of CD's and people were eager to sign his e-mail list...things are gonna happen for Dave....Stay tuned for updates to my local artists page...I hope to put more shows up there soon. that's all for now, won't you be my neighbor?~e
