AUGUST 2003

2003-08-22 07:59:00 Everything’s coming up Milhouse!
Well, I found out at staff meeting yesterday that I get to go back to wearing BDU’s again. YES! There is a God! ;-) I can’t even begin to express how happy I am. Comfort is so important to me. Then, Why, you ask, do I insist on wearing outfits and shoes that are very uncomfortable? Because I consider it acceptable to suffer for beauty but unacceptable to suffer for frumpiness. I looked like a big moo cow in my blues and I feel more comfortable and more badass in my cammies. Anyway, I feel more than a little hungover this morning. I had a few too many drinks last night and I really can’t hold my liquor like I used to. Anyway, I still had fun….I hung out with the man and a bunch of his friends from work….very cool folks that is fo’ sho’. The website is really coming along….Give it a few more weeks and I might start integrating flash…. Anyway, I’m gonna go throwup now…ya’ll have a great day. ~e

"Our base Clothing sales customer service and supply level is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I couldn’t find shirts in my size, never mind that they didn’t have the Staff Sergeant stripes that I needed, metal staff sergeant pins, and the fact that I was standing at the counter for 10 minutes while the service person helped the ONE other customer in the store, who wasn’t even in uniform. Active duty should have priority and we should also be able to go to our clothing store at ANY time and find exactly what we need. Now that a majority of people have to wear their Blues on a more frequent basis, they are going to be looking to supplement their current uniform with more shirts, pants and accessories. It should NOT be this difficult or frustrating to get what we need to look sharp in our blues. Someone, with the authority, needs to coordinate with clothing sales to anticipate needs of the Buckley service members. When a rash of staff promotees are going to be looking for stripes, or when a ribbon is being awarded a whole unit, they should have what we need on hand. We spend a huge portion of our lives in uniform, and now that it’s going to be Blues and we have so many accoutrements, this needs to improve!" That is the letter that i iwll never send. i'm so fuming angry right now,a nd i can't do anything about it. I despise wearing my blues. They are ugly, uncomfortable and impractical. Damn the military. I never should have joined. :( ~e

2003-08-08 09:15:00 Smelling Foo Foo....
Sorry for the lack of update...I've been so absorbed in making my website that I haven't had time for much else. Things are going well. I've gotten the word that I may be getting orders within the next month or two...hopefully for overseas (keep your fingers crossed). Also, General Lord in all his infinite wisdom has decided that wearing blues monday through thursday is a good way to show the whole world that we're not at war anymore. Hey Smart guy...If we're not at war, then why the heck is everyone still dying. And why do I have to be tortured just because you feel like it. I HATE MY BLUES!!! Lately, everythings been full on twighlight zone. I've hung out with 2NS more in the past couple months than I have in a while. He's doign good and it's so strange to see him in a place where he's not the same as he used to be. I'm happy for him though...he's moving back down to NM to go to COLLEGE (?!?)...Oh and Forrest called me out of the blue a few weeks ago and we've hung out a few times... Crazy... Anyway other than that, alls well... love to you all, ~e
